Books
We are definitely a family of readers! Most of us like the modern fantasy books and enjoy reading Brandon Mull, Michael Scott, Eoin Colfer, and Rick Riordan. I'm a huge fan of reading Newbery Award Winners. Whitney likes mysteries. Really, we like too many books and have way too many favorite authors to list them all in a single opening paragraph! Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli
ReplyDeleteAwesome book and quick read! Maniac's real name is Jeffrey and he's a white runaway whose become a legend in Two Mills. He's allergic to Pizza, unties knots the size of basketballs, stands in Finsterwald's back yard without getting the "finsterwallies", takes a bite out of Mars Bar Thompson's candy bar, and runs on the long, thin rails of the railroad tracks. The feat that makes him a legend, though, is how he brought the East and West sides of town together.
